🕯️ CANDLE CARE TIPS 🕯️

Get the best scent, longest burn time and keep your home safe by following these simple steps:

✨ FIRST BURN IS THE MOST IMPORTANT

When you light your candle for the very first time, always let it burn long enough for the melted wax to reach right to the edges of the jar or tin. This usually takes 1 to 2 hours, depending on the size. If you put it out too early, the wax will only melt in the centre, causing "tunnelling" – meaning the wax around the edges will never be used, and your candle will waste half its life and fragrance.

✨ TRIM YOUR WICK EVERY TIME

Always trim the wick to about 5mm before lighting. This keeps the flame steady and small, stops it getting too big or hot, prevents black soot forming on the glass or walls, stops smoking, and helps your candle burn evenly and last much longer. Remove any leftover bits of burnt wick before lighting too.

✨ BURN FOR THE RIGHT LENGTH OF TIME

Never burn your candle for longer than 3–4 hours at a time. Burning it longer than this makes the wax and container get too hot, which can damage the fragrance oils, make the glass crack, or become a safety risk. Once you’ve enjoyed it, let it cool completely before lighting it again.

✨ CHOOSE A SAFE SPOT

Always place your candle on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface, well away from drafts, open windows, doors, curtains, bedding, furniture or anything that can catch fire. Keep them out of reach of children and pets, and never leave a burning candle unattended.

✨ HOW TO PUT IT OUT PROPERLY

Avoid blowing your candle out, as this causes smoke, spreads soot and can splash hot wax. The best way is to use a candle snuffer, or gently dip the wick into the melted wax to extinguish it, then straighten the wick carefully ready for next time.

✨ KNOW WHEN TO STOP BURNING

Stop using your candle when only about 10mm of wax remains at the bottom. Burning it lower than this can cause the container to overheat and crack, or become a fire risk.
Follow these simple steps and you’ll enjoy every last bit of your beautiful candle safely 🤍
